UNOV

The United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV) was established on January 1, 1980, after New York and Geneva (and before Nairobi) as the third official seat of the United Nations. In this capacity, it performs representation and liaison tasks at and with the permanent missions to the United Nations in Vienna, the government of the host country and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in Vienna.
UNOV administers and implements the United Nation's program for the peaceful uses of outer space and provides the organizations in the Vienna International Center with general services such as conference services, information services, guard and security services, procurement services and general support services.
UNOV has close ties with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). In addition to the general services listed above, a joint management department supports the two organizations with financial resources management and personnel management services as well as information technology and communications services.
