According to the State Register of Legal Acts, the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Austria have concluded 17 bilateral treaties/agreements/Memoranda of Understanding, which regulate the following areas: bilateral economic relations, international transportation of goods, regular passenger transportation, mutual promotion and protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion with regard to income and property taxes, development cooperation, cooperation in the field of agriculture, police cooperation in South-East Europe, cooperation in the field of combating crime, social security, mutual assistance in the event of natural or technological disasters, etc. The expansion of the Moldovan Austrian legal framework was marked by the signing, on July 26, 2024, in Salzburg, of the Memorandum of Understanding (not an international treaty) between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport of the Republic of Austria on cooperation in the fields of arts and culture.
